EMDR Therapy Melbourne
Past experiences inevitably shape how we feel, think, and relate to others. Sometimes their influence can make life difficult in the present.
EMDR therapy works with both mind and body to help process these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional impact.
People come to EMDR therapy for many different reasons, including:
• anxiety and panic
• depression
• the effects of difficult or distressing experiences in childhood or adulthood
• PTSD and complex trauma (C-PTSD)
• negative beliefs about oneself or longstanding difficulties with self-esteem
• difficulties in relationships that may be shaped by earlier experiences
Trauma-focused therapy with accredited EMDR practitioner Tessa Hutcheson in Richmond, Melbourne & online.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy endorsed by the World Health Organisation which is used to treat trauma and other psychological difficulties.
Rather than focusing only on talking about problems, EMDR works with the brain’s natural capacity to process experiences that may have remained emotionally unresolved.
